Russell Guercio

Russell was born November 11,1959 in White Castle, La. and passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024. Russell was 64 years of age. Russell was a native of White Castle, La. and also resided in White Castle, La.

Russell graduated from White Castle High School in 1977 and completed six years in the U.S. Army with an Honorable discharge. While in the Army, Russell achieved the rank of Specialist 5 (E-5) and was an Anti-Aircraft Radar Technician.

After his stint in the Army, Russell attended classes from the AFU Local 102 Electricians Union in Baton Rouge, La., where he obtained Journeyman Electrician status. Russell was also a former member of the AFU Local 102 Electricians Union.

Russell worked as an electrician after completing his electrician training and worked for such companies as Valero and Fina. He also worked for himself for many years performing all facets of electrical work.

Russell enjoyed LSU football and LSU baseball. He also enjoyed Saints football.

Russell was survived by his two children Sam and A.J. Guercio, Baton Rouge, La., and his brother Chris Guercio, Belle Rose, La.

Russell was preceded in Death by his parents Anthony J. Guercio and Linda Chauvin Guercio, his sister Melinda Guercio Randazzo and his brother Anthony Guercio Jr.

Arrangements for cremation are through Church’s Funeral Service, St. Amant, La. and a memorial will take place graveside in the White Castle Cemetery, which will be announced.
