Ruthalie "Ruth, Ruthie" Bourgeois Bourque

Ruthalie “Ruth, Ruthie” Bourgeois Bourque, born in Gonzales, LA on August 13, 1928, passed away in Gonzales on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at the age of 95.  Ruth was so very courageous, selfless, fun-loving and she had a heart of gold. Her love of God, Her Calvey, Family, and all loved ones never waivered. Ruth lost her vision / sight but never lost the love in her heart or the spunk in her soul. She was loved by many; words do not express our heartbreak. Ruth enjoyed riding motorcycles and traveling with her husband, fishing, music, Mardi Gras, and spending time with her family and friends.  She and her husband were the proud owners of Cal’s Bakery in Gonzales for many years.  She was a graduate of St. Amant High School, Baton Rouge Business College and Little Rock Arkansas School for the Blind. Ruth is survived by her daughters Pam Malbrough (Lou), Kim Bourque, Dale Bourque; beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Bourgeois Mire; sister, Darlene Brignac, as well as nieces, nephews, and other family members.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Calvey Joseph Bourque; daughter, Sue Ann Bourque; parents, Marshall and Virginia Porrier Bourgeois; grandson, Kelly Babin; great-granddaughter, Angel Frisby; sister, Aline Bourgeois; brother, Audron “Poochie” Bourgeois.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant from 9:00am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
