Sadie James Mire, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on February 4, 2025. She was born to Velda Arceneaux James and Emmett James on October 5, 1930, and was a cherished member of her community, always known for her kindness and warm spirit.
Sadie is survived by her daughter, Mona Day, and son-in-law Randall; her two granddaughters, Jordan Worley and husband Kyle, and Allison Menard and husband Joshua; and her great-grandchildren, Lukas Worley, Riley Menard, and Sadie Menard. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be carried on by her family.
Sadie was preceded in death by her parents, Velda and Emmett James, and her beloved siblings: Lois James Bourque, Emmett James Jr., Gerald James, Hubert “Q Ball” James, and Shirley James Richard.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at St. Mark Catholic Church of Gonzales from 10:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm. Entombment to follow at Hope Haven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Gonzales.
Sadie’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her love will continue to shine through her family for generations to come.
