Sandra Mae Hebert, 75, of Cut Off, LA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 22, 2023 in Gonzales, LA. Born on July 10, 1948, Sandra was known for her funny and laid-back personality, always bringing joy to those around her. She took great pride in her Cajun heritage and loved sharing stories of growing up down the bayou.
Sandra is survived by her loving sons: Sidney “Ronan” Oldbear (Chrystal), Jay Oldbear (Hallie), Mecham Oldbear (Robbi), Damon Oldbear (Brandy), and Mark Nicholas Safe (Becky). She is also survived by her daughters: Delphine Onstead (Jason) and Annabelle Safe Gonzales (Adam). Sandra was a beloved grandmother “Merere” to Brittani, Brendon, Madison, Austin, Colton, Lauren, Emma, Josie, Jolie, Mecham, Lacie, Lanie, Evangeline, Emiline, Gunner, Adie, Havan, Jay Jr, Jayden, Lexston, Kaylynn, Kaycee, Jenna, Brennon, Andrew, Elijah, Christina, Camille, and Reggie. Her great grandchildren: Jasper, Andrew “AJ”, Ezra, Lillian Loralie, Natalie, Kendall, Colten, Owen, Khloe, Isaiah, Zoe, Aurea, Emma, Ezra, Jeremiah, Trent, Trevor, and Jaycee. She is also survived by her sisters: Julie Aucoin (Ricky), Helen Hebert, and Deborah Hebert, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved as much as her own children.
Sandra's father, Sidney Hebert, her mother, Julia Bruce Hebert, and her brothers Hecton Hebert, Nicholas Hebert, and Marty Hebert, preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her grandchild, Nicholas and great grandchild, Karson.
Sandra enjoyed sewing, cooking, and sharing her stories with others.
Services will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Cut Off, LA to be determined at a later date and time.
