Selby "Ray" Woodward

Selby "Ray" Woodward passed peacefully on December 24, 2024 at Our Lady of the Lake hospital in Baton Rouge. Ray was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Ann Marie Schilling Woodward of Ponchatoula, his daughter Kimberly Woodward Miles of St. Amant, his granddaughters Alaina Miles, Kara Miles and grandson Toby Miles of St. Amant, his daughter Christi Savoy Lucas and her spouse Olin Lucas, and granddaughter Presley Lucas of Morganton, Ga.,his grandson Devin Delaune of St. Amant, his sister Betty Woodward Hull and her spouse Wayne Hull of Walker, his brother Dean Woodward and his spouse Lori Lane Monceret Woodward of Watson La, his brother Gene Woodward and his spouse Anita Woodward of Carriere, Ms, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son John Adam Woodward, his father Elliot C. Woodward, his mother Francis Cangelosi Woodward, his brothers Joseph Woodward, Charles Woodward and William Woodward, his father in law Leonard Leo Schilling, mother in law Dorothy Foster Schilling Coates and brother in law Leonard Leo "Buster" Schilling.
Ray was known as a jokester. He had a quick wit and was always making people laugh. He had a huge heart and always did what he could to help others. Ray was a devout christian of the Catholic faith. He loves God and was happy to share this love of God with his family.
Ray leaves a legacy of loving his family, and he took great joy in his time spent with them. He is remembered by all as a loving kind christian man.
Visitation will be Friday January 10, 2025 at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Gonzales, La at 10 am and funeral mass at 11am.
