Sidney J. Amedee Jr., a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on March 17, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was born on October 4, 1939, in Gonzales, Louisiana. Sidney dedicated his life to his career as an instrument technician, where he shared his skills and knowledge with many.
Sidney had a wonderful way of connecting with people, and he truly enjoyed socializing with friends and family. His warm smile and kind nature drew people to him, and he cherished the time spent with loved ones. In his free time, Sidney found joy in fishing and camping, activities that allowed him to experience the beauty of nature and spend quality time outdoors. He created numerous memories through these hobbies that he treasured deeply.
Sidney is survived by his loving spouse, Mazie Carter Amedee, and his four sons: Ron David Amedee, Brad M. Amedee (Sheila), Mark Amedee (Glynda), and Darren Amedee (Penny). He was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as a step-grandfather to one step-grandchild and two step-great-grandchildren. Sidney is also remembered by his brother, Don Amedee (Ellie), and his step-daughters, Sherry Doyle and Kahne Sullivan. He is further survived by his niece, Kimberly, and his nephew, Trent as well as the mother of his children, Brenda Amedee Catoire.
Sidney was preceded in death by his father, Sidney J. Amedee Sr., and his mother, Clara Babin Amedee. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and countless memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.
