Sonia Berthelot Eppinett, 77, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully at her home in Central on May 30, 2022. She was born in Pierre Part and raised in Bayou Pigeon. She spent most of her adult life in Baton Rouge raising her children. But, some of her best years were the decades she spent living on the Amite River making great memories with her family and friends. She is survived by her son John Eppinett and daughter in law Cindy; daughter Christine Eppinett Sullivan and son in law Ben; grandaughters Samantha Borer Eppinett and Riley Anne Eppinett; sister Elizabeth “Liz” Unbehagen and brother in law Martin Clyde; brother Dudley Joseph “DJ” Berthelot Jr. and sister in law Evelyn; brother David P. Berthelot and sister in law Valerie; the father of her children Pat Eppinett, numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved min-pin Bella. She is preceded in death by her parents Dudley Joseph Berthelot Sr. and Thelma Breaux Berthelot. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for family and friends to gather in her honor at The River Room 222 Laurel St. Downtown Baton Rouge on June 9, 2022 from 3-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or a pet rescue organization of your choice.
