Theresa Mayer Bourgeois

The Lord is my Shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.

A devoted wife and loving mother, she passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024.Theresa was 93, born on July 24, 1931.

She is survived by five sons, Cornell (Melanie), Donnie (Donna), Barry, Brad (Kim) and Jamie; one daughter Tammie (Bryan): grandchildren Christian, Micah, Elise, Ty, Shannon, Brandi, Misty, Natalie, Sally, Renee, Jacques, Jason, Gabrielle, Joshua, Kade, Victoria, Katie, Chauntelle, Jared, Trey and Corey. She is survived by 38 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Paul V. Bourgeois, daughter Gail and son-in-law Winton Lavigne and daughter Cheryl, 2 granddaughters and parents Alphonse and Marie Lanoux Mayer, brothers John L, Noel, and Albert Mayer.

Theresa worked for many years at the Gonzales Pants Factory and was the manager at the Gonzales Dollar General Store. She enjoyed sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, card games, fishing, camping and the Casino. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.

She was kind, compassionate, and fiercely devoted to her family. She had a beautiful smile and kindly greeted all.

Visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St.Amant on Thursday, October 3 from 9:00am to 11:00am. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00am presided by Rev. Jon Koehler. Burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
