Thomas “Tommy” Fant

Thomas ”Tommy” Lane Fant, age 68, a resident of Gonzales, LA, crossed the finish line on November 24, 2017. He is survived by the love of his life, Billie Ann, whom he served for the 46 years of their beautiful marriage, and his six children: Gina Fant Dloniak, Apryl Fant Brignac, Somer Fant Laird, Melodi Fant Hawley, Katie Fant Martin and Thomas Jacob Fant; his sons-in-law and daughter-in-law, Joseph Dloniak, Joey Laird, Brandon Hawley, Aaron Martin and Christine Babin Fant; his twenty three grandchildren: Michelle, Jenni and T.J., Megan, Natalie, AnaLisa, Christina, Brennen, Kaylee Grace, Trevor, Rachael, Eden, Zia, Noah, Faith, Isabella, Elias, Isaac, Olivia, Levi, Josie, Chanyn and Judah Lane and his beloved “”son””/poodle, Boudreaux Rouge. He is also survived by his brothers Randall Fant and Mark Johnson, his wonderful Aunt Jane and Uncle Gene, beloved sons/nephews, Seth and Justin Partridge, and his coworkers at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, whom he considered family. Tommy was a quiet hero of the faith and a champion among men. Passionately in love with Jesus Christ, he selflessly lived each day with purpose to resolutely shine the love of God to anyone privileged enough to cross his path. He was a perpetual missionary, a humble, daily evangelist: leaving Gospel tracts as sprinkles of the Good News everywhere he went. He loved LSU football and had a constant sense of humor that made it impossible to feel sorrow even on the worst of days. His heroic, unwavering faith inspired everyone he met. Tommy faithfully taught his children and grandchildren the Word of God, extravagantly loved his wife, fearlessly preached the Gospel and has completed his God-given assignment with dignity and honor. He is now laying many crowns at the nail-scarred feet of the One he loved most. Visitation will be held at The Church International at 2037 Quail Drive in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, November 28th, from 10:00 am until the service at 12 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SafeHaven Campaign, began by his family, which ministers to infants born addicted to drugs.
