Todd Joseph Floyd, age 55, was called home by our Lord on Sunday, January 2, 2022, surrounded by loving family. Todd was born on December 28, 1966 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and was a resident of Galvez, Louisiana. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, great uncle, and cousin. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 23 years, Shelley Cannon Floyd; children Aaron Joseph Floyd and Lauren Catherine Floyd; mother, Janice Millet Brown (Richard); second mother, Rebecca H. Floyd; sister, Tori Floyd Siears (Kenny); brother, Jeffrey David Floyd (Liz); nephews, Kade Anthony Siears (Kasey) and Aeden Jackson King Floyd; niece and great niece, Samantha Rene’ Siears and Addyson Renee Siears; mother-in-law, Shirley Cannon; brother-in-law, Michael Joe Cannon; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends; and his beloved pet, Oliver. Todd has now rejoined those that have gone before him; his father, Kenneth King Floyd; maternal grandparents, Edgar Joseph Millet and Gladys Mae Millet; paternal grandparents, Nellie Jewell Mims and Ernest King Floyd; and father-in-law, Elmo Joseph Cannon. After many years of service, Todd retired from the Louisiana State Library. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved spending time with his wife and children. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life, which will be held at Sorrento Baptist Church in Sorrento, Louisiana on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 8:30am-11am. Funeral services will begin at 11am with a gravesite service to follow at Galvez Pentecostal Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will be held at the Sorrento Baptist Church Hall after the gravesite service. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Aaron Floyd, Jeffrey Floyd, Michael Cannon, Kade Siears, Lane Wilson, and Diab Haddad.
