A ceremony celebrating the life of Troy J. Canella will be held on Friday November 1, 2024, at First Baptist Church Denham Springs, visitation will begin at 2:00 pm until time of the service at 5:00 pm.

Troy was born in Baton Rouge on April 8, 1987, and rested from this life on October 24, 2024, at the age of 37 years. He was a resident of St. Amant and a graduate of the class of 2005 at Central High School; and was a skilled welder known for his dedication and craftsmanship. He took great pride in his work and was respected by his peers.

Troy was never shy about volunteering his time to his family, friends, or anyone in need, and especially the children involved in his life. Family and friends will always remember how he loved and had a passion for children in his life, his children, nieces, nephews, and children of his friends, they always enjoyed time spent with him.

He was an avid reader, enjoyed poetry, reading to understand his bible, astronomy, watching movies, and playing video games especially with all the kids.

The moments he cherished as his proudest were the birth of his beautiful children Lucca and Kaylen, purchasing his truck, and being able to regain mobility after intense rehabilitation from an accident.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Ignatious “Nat” Canella, Antonia “Lena” Canella, Charlotte Mayers, and his sister Jennifer Canella.

Survivors include his children Lucca of Denham Springs, and Kaylen of Central, his father Frank Canella Sr (Stacy) of Central, mother Sylvia Mayers Canella of St Amant, grandfather Allen “Bubba” Mayers, brother Frank Canella Jr (Ashley) of Denham Springs, nieces and nephews Brantley, Bennett, Everly and Eiley Canella, step-sister Kristine Valencia (Shawn), nephews S J and Tate Valencia, step-brother Michael Daigle, also survived by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Troy will be remembered for his kind, servant heart, unwavering commitment to his family to be the best version of himself he could be, his generosity to friends and family, numerous strangers we may never know, and his perseverance to see through anything life could throw at him.

The family extends appreciation and thanks to the staff at Serenity Treatment Center, Baton Rouge.

In lieu of traditional remembrances, memorial gifts may be given by those that prefer, these gifts will be used by Troy’s family to honor his life and memory.
