Tyler passed away peacefully on February 4, 2018 at his home in Glynn, LA. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and friend to many. He believed in working hard and was always willing to give others a helping hand. He enjoyed life with family and friends especially his siblings, his son and daughter-in-law, and his three granddaughters. He was particularly fond of his times spent outdoors with his brother, Bryan. He was a beloved uncle who taught many people in his life the way of the world as he saw it. He was a long-time member of Iron Workers Local 623 and was proud of his brotherhood. Tyler is survived by his son, Tyler J. Stephens II and his wife Sarah; his granddaughters, Briana, Kassiel, and Lilianne; his brothers, Bryan Stephens III and his wife JoAnn, Tommy Stephens and his wife Robin, and Gary Stephens and his companion Tonya; his sisters, Linda Leonard and her husband Sam, and Susan Bordelon and her husband Chip; and his many nieces and nephews whom he loved and cherished. He was preceded in death by his father, Bryan Stephens Jr., his mother, Hazel Sullivan Stephens; his sister, Cynthia Stephens; and his grandchildren, little angels that never quite made it to earth; two nieces; and a nephew. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at The Church of St. Amant, 13423 Hwy 431, St. Amant, LA 70774 on Saturday, February 10, 2018, with Services at 11 a.m., conducted by his brother-in-law, Sam Leonard, Jr. Entombment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Church of St. Amant or the family to help defray the cost of funeral services are appreciated.
