Mary “Veronica” Lou Ly, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on April 25, 2021 at the age of 45 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Veronica was born on January 12, 1976 in El Paso, Texas and raised in Marerro, Louisiana. She is a graduate of LSU with a BA in Landscape Architecture. She had various careers throughout her life, including landscape architect, massage therapist, and science/art teacher. Veronica was a positive, upbeat person that was always able to find joy in life. She truly enjoyed the process of learning new things as well as teaching them to her students. She also enjoyed traveling the world. Her absolute favorite thing was being a mother to her daughter Camille. Veronica is survived by her husband Lane Legendre and their daughter Camille Legendre. She is also survived by her parents Chuc Ly and Hue Ly; sisters Tuyet “Nguyet” “Rose” Ly and Loan “Leyna” Ly Chen (Roy); brother-in-law J.J. Legendre (Roxie); sisters-in-law Marlee Legendre Ryan (Jeff) and Calli Legendre Wood (Alex); nieces and nephews Karina Chen, Lucas Chen, Sam Legendre (Sofia), Catherine Legendre Bass (Kyle), Jacob Folse, Isabel Wood, Nora Wood, and Witt Wood; aunts, uncles and cousins too numerous to name. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:00 AM on Friday, April 30 at St. George Catholic Church in Baton Rouge.
