Wanda W. Ferris
A graveside service celebrating the life of Wanda W. Ferris will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday February 28, 2023, at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery Winnsboro, under the direction of Church Funeral Services of Baton Rouge.
Mrs. Ferris was born on April 5, 1935, in Williams, Oklahoma and departed from this life on Thursday February 23, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family, after an extended illness.
Wanda touched the lives of many for decades. She taught Sunday School and Children’s Church for 30 years at Aimwell Baptist Church in Zwolle, LA. She had a servants heart and was a visitor and caregiver to many relatives and friends until the decline of her own health.
Wanda enjoyed conversations and visiting, she loved her family immensely, had a passion for always helping others, and was a devoted and faithful Christian.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edward Levone Ferris, parents George Walter and Leona Hester Hanna Whitledge, siblings, Shirley Sue Nelson, Ruth, Rev. Bill, Clifton, Geroge Edward, Ronald Dean, Phillip Wayne and Walter Whitledge.
Survivors include her daughter Cheryl Ferris Blanchard, grandchildren Shane Blanchard and wife Amanda, and Brandie Blanchard, brother Gerald Whitledge and wife Linda, great grandchildren Gabe and Ian Blanchard, and Kylie Cason, also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
