Wayne Jules Guidry, a resident of St. Amant, formerly of LaPlace, passed away on April 30, 2018, at home, at the age of 69 years. He was born October 29, 1948, in New Orleans and spent his childhood in Kenner. He loved hunting, fishing, and anything that had to do with the outdoors, and God’s creation. He also loved spending time with family and friends, boiling crawfish, cooking jambalaya and sauce piquant. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers. He served in the U S Navy during the Vietnam Era. Wayne will be sadly missed by his wife of 48 years Dorothy Rogers Guidry; his children Candice Clancy, Chad Guidry (Tonya), Roxanne Moyer and Theresa Madere; his grandchildren Dylan Johnson, Donald “D J” McLean, Cheyenne Guidry, Connor Guidry, Harley Madere, Michael Madere, and Rita Guidry; great-grandchild Braiden McLean; siblings Kenneth Guidry (Judy), Michael Guidry (Becky), Patricia Guidry; brother and sisters-in-law Steven Rogers (Lori), and Carmen McAllister; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and many other friends and relatives. He is preceded in death by his mother Leona Fabre Guidry, father Stanley Guidry, nephew William “David” Spencer, son-in-law Samuel Moyer, sister Ruth Ballam and many other loved ones. A ceremony celebrating Wayne’s life will be held at 11 am Saturday at Praise Church, 36452 C Braud Rd, Prairieville; visitation will begin at 9 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Service in care of Church Funeral Services and Crematory.
