Wayne Joseph Naquin Sr. peacefully departed this earthly life on October 4, 2024, at his home in Gramercy, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 11, 1945, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Wayne lived a life full of love, friendship, and fun. Wayne retired from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 60. Wayne also proudly served in the Air National Guard of Louisiana from 1965 until 1971, attaining the rank of sergeant. Wayne loved the outdoors and telling stories, but most enjoyed opening his home to his family, friends, and neighbors to celebrate holidays, birthdays, cheer on the New Orleans Saints, or just to pass a good time.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Janet Bias Naquin; his sons, Wayne Naquin Jr. (Holly), Joseph Naquin, Shannon Naquin (Marcie), Michael Naquin; and his sister, Gayle Parker (John). He is also survived by his grandchildren, JT Naquin (Jessie), Heather Naquin, Thomas Naquin (Gwen), Daniel Naquin, Haley Naquin, Dustin Naquin (Julia), Shyanne Naquin, Shay Naquin; his great grandchildren, Emilia Naquin, Paisley Thompson, Colton Naquin, and Matthew Naquin; his nieces, Gina Parker Sellers, Monica Naquin Harvey, Darnell Parker Epstein, Lisa Parker Graham; and his “bonus” family, Ryan Louque, Jr. (Holly), Hailey Broussard (Jase), Isabella Louque, Aaron Louque, Waylon Louque, Lilah Broussard, and Johnny Campanella.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Naquin, Sr. and Jessie Rabalais Naquin Mattern, and his brother, Clarence “Sonny” Naquin, Jr.
