William Henry-Frith 'Will' Flake

William Henry-Frith “Will” Flake, 37, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. 

He was born on January 24, 1987, in Opelousas, Louisiana to Anita Milligan and Robert Flake, both originally from Bunkie, Louisiana. Anita currently resides in Baton Rouge and Robert in Denham Springs. Will attended Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School through 8th grade and graduated with honors from Catholic High School. After high school, he attended LSU, where he studied History. He had a passion for coaching soccer and was a devoted fan of LSU sports. 

Will has three sisters: Emily Flake, Grace Anne Montgomery and Molly Milligan; one brother, Ethan Flake and a nephew, Elliott Guidry. 

He worked in restaurant management for much of his career in both Baton Rouge and Biloxi, where he made many lifelong friends. Will was also a proud pet parent to Tonks, an adorable rescue cat whom he loved dearly. He was an avid reader, with the Harry Potter series being one of his favorites—hence the name of his beloved cat, Tonks. 

He is survived by his mother, Anita Milligan, his father, Robert Flake (stepmother, Amy Villemarette Flake); three sisters: Emily Flake, Grace Anne Montgomery and Molly Milligan; one brother, Ethan Flake and a nephew, Elliott Guidry; his maternal grandmother, Helen Milligan; his paternal grandmother, Bobby Russo; step-grandparents, Daniel and Jeanette Villemarette; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly. 

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, H.P. Milligan and paternal grandfather, Henry Frith “Mike” Flake. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14th at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church located at 2250 Main St. Baton Rouge, Louisiana from 11 am to 12 noon. A funeral mass conducted by Father Joshua Johnson will follow at 12 noon and a reception immediately after in the church hall.
