William R. Taylor “Bill” born in Milroy, Minnesota and longtime resident of Baton Rouge and St. Amant, Louisiana was born on July 17, 1944, and passed peacefully on March 3, 2025, at Clarity Hospice in Baton Rouge, at the age of 80. He worked as an electrician and was a longtime member of IBEW union 995. He was also a member of the Lutheran church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiing, camping, hiking, and being in the great outdoors. One of his fondest memories with his two sons was hiking in Philmont, NM with Boy Scout Troop 322 where he was the scoutmaster. He spent the latter part of his life in St. Amant, La. at his home on the diversion canal, and if he wasn’t fishing or boat riding, he was sitting on his deck watching the boats pass by. He is preceded in death by his son John Daniel Taylor and parents John and June (Rolland) Taylor. He is survived by his wife Betty (Hinton) Taylor, sister, Susan (Michael) Beam, former wife Sandra Aden, and son William “Ron” (Kaley) Taylor. Stepfather to Darren Bourgeois, Glenn Richards, Gwen (Randy) Lilly. He was known as Pop B to his grandchildren Kelsey (Michael) Didon, Katelyn (Zach) Johnson, Alexis (Michael) Dearman, Austin Taylor, Chase Taylor, Bailey Richards, Chloe Lilly, Rylee Lilly, and Shaunda Gros. His great-grandchildren, Henry Johnson, Shepherd Johnson, Adalyn Didon, Lillian Johnson, Charlotte Didon, Emerson Dearman, Samantha Byrd and Hazel Martin. Services will be held at Carroll Baptist Church, 13980 Friendship Rd. Walker, La. On Saturday March 15, 2025. Visitation at 1 pm followed by service at 2 pm.
